I am speaking at RubyConf 2008!

Posted by: mikepence on: September 18, 2008

Well, hot damn. Another conference proposal at the last moment has been accepted! When I saw the tweets flying about (I am on Twitter here) that the call for proposals for RubyConf 2008, in nearby Orlando, was closing, I thought, “What would I most like to talk about?” In my haste, I did not even get the title grammatically correct, but the summary is here, and the overall schedule is just amazingly good!

Naturally, I will be talking about the excellent work going on with Cells and Apotomo, which have already benefited by being on Github, and extending those technologies to bring usable UI widgets, or “components,” to Rails!

Exciting stuff, and I am honored to be a part of it. Nick Sutterer will be joining me in the presentation, since he has been so instrumental in bringing the key technologies together. Hope to see you there!

In the spirit of radical openness, I will be developing the content for the presentation on iCrew. Feel free to join in on the discussion and help me to shape an awesome presentation and change the world of Rails development in particular, and web development in general, for the better.
