This is a blog about Laszlo on Rails, the ultimate web development mash-up.

The idea that Ruby on Rails would make a great server-side solution for the OpenLaszlo framework is immediately apparent to most people who have more than a passing familiarity with both platforms. I'm just the guy who was brave or stupid enough to say, "Sure, let's do it!" — and then proposed a talk based on this effort which was accepted for the First International Rails Conference.

Fortunately, I am not alone. As of this writing, 234 like-minded souls have joined me on the barely-promoted Google group for the Laszlo on Rails project, and support from Laszlo Systems has been extraordinary.

Will we succeed in putting together two great technologies and creating an incredible presentation by June 23rd — or fail miserably and be left stammering hopelessly before one of the most visible software conferences of the year (and the entire internet)?

Stay tuned and find out.

  1. I’d love to join in the google group, but the link you’ve got to it seems to go to the conference page, not the google group.

  2. I’m currently integrating a Flex app with Ruby on Rails and I’ll be very interested to see this presentation at RailsConf.
